This letter from Arizona Senator, Henry F. Ashurst, to VM Slipher congratulates Lowell Observatory on its newly discovered, Trans-Neptunian planet. Senator Ashurst recognizes the long history of Percival Lowell's search for Planet X, as well as the legacy such a discovery will have on the observatory. The letter also includes Senator Ashurst's suggestion to name the new planet "Athena" or "Minerva," the goddesses of wisdom from Greek and Roman mythology, respectfully.
