Description

Percival Lowell's widow, Constance, proposes the name "Percival" for the newly discovered Planet X. Her late husband initiated the search for the trans-Neptunian planet in 1905, but passed away eleven years into the search in 1916. Mrs. Lowell asserts that the tribute to Percival Lowell would be more fitting for the planet as opposed to mythological deities whose names are "worn out."
