Description
Hubble sent Slipher a memorandum with the letter to pass on to the Committee on Nebulae at the International Astronomy Union, regarding a proposal for surveying unclassified nebulae. He also suggests in the letter that a central bureau could be established in a small institution and grant-funded to compile information on nebulae and related information. The suggestion was aimed at enabling specialized research and eliminating unneeded work from the investigating scientists.
